The proposal was approved by the University Council during its fourth meeting for the academic year 1445 AH, held on Sunday, 29/8/1445 AH, corresponding to 10/3/2024, and was subsequently endorsed by His Excellency the Minister of Education through Letter No. (4500973459) dated 11/9/1445 AH. The resolution states:
“The esteemed University Council approves the Regulatory Rules for Student Councils at the University, in accordance with the attached format, based on Paragraph (12) of Article (20) of the Higher Education and Universities Council System.”
Introduction
In pursuit of developing and enhancing the university environment at the University of Tabuk, and in implementation of one of the objectives of the University’s Third Strategic Plan concerning the establishment of student councils that contribute to enriching the student experience, and in accordance with the provisions of Article (17), Paragraph (24) of the Universities Law issued by Royal Decree No. M/27 dated 2/3/1441 AH, which stipulates that:
“The University Council shall be responsible for managing academic, administrative, and financial affairs, and for implementing the University’s general policy in accordance with the provisions of the Law and the regulations and rules issued by the Universities Affairs Council and the Board of Trustees. In particular, the Council shall: (17/24) Approve the formation of the Student Council, define its responsibilities, and establish its operating rules.”
Furthermore, Article (43) of the same Law stipulates that:
“An Advisory Student Council shall be established at the University by a decision of the University Council and chaired by one of the Vice Presidents of the University. The University Council shall determine its responsibilities and operating rules.”
