The Department of Family and Community Medicine is one of the core and active
departments in a community-oriented medical college. It integrates the disciplines of
Family Medicine and Community Medicine within a unified vision that aims to promote
the health of both individuals and communities. Family Medicine focuses on providing
comprehensive and continuous healthcare for all family members regardless of gender,
age, or type of illness, while Community Medicine emphasizes public health through
epidemiological surveillance, disease prevention, and the promotion of healthy
behaviors and awareness.
The department plays an active role in teaching several academic courses, conducting
community-based research, organizing health awareness campaigns, and training
students in clinical and research skills to meet the needs of the local and regional
community.

A practical and applied program focusing on common community health problems. It
aims to develop students’ skills in diagnosis and treatment, along with applying clinical
skills in family medicine and primary care outpatient clinics.
ï‚· Community Medicine Module (MED0402)
Covers the fundamentals of public health, epidemiology, and disease prevention, with
an emphasis on community-based research.
ï‚· Community Medical Practice I & II Modules (MED0305, MED0310)
A practical program involving the design and implementation of health projects
addressing the needs of the Tabuk community, applying community concepts in health
practice.
ï‚· Research Methodology Module (MED0203)
Aims to develop students’ skills in designing and conducting scientific research and
analyzing statistical data.
