The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tabuk strives to achieve the vision of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program by providing a supportive educational environment that contributes to graduating competent physicians equipped with scientific and research skills, capable of serving the community and promoting health.

The Vice Deanship of Clinical Training Affairs works to organize clinical training and internship programs and to develop an educational environment that strengthens the program’s graduate attributes, enabling graduates to become distinguished physicians who are competent, collaborative, committed, and leaders in promoting community health and preventing disease.

We are committed to supporting students and trainees, strengthening academic mentoring, and providing the tools that enable them to excel in their academic and professional journey. Responsibilities of the Vice Deanship for Clinical Training Affairs

The Vice Deanship for Clinical Training Affairs is responsible for organizing and developing clinical training and internship programs for students of the Faculty of Medicine. It provides comprehensive oversight of all training-related aspects to ensure the highest quality standards. The Vice Deanship aims to enhance students’ clinical experience, meet academic accreditation requirements, and enable students to successfully pass the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) examinations.

Vice Deanship for Clinical Training Affairs

1) Organizing and managing internship training

  • Supervising the registration of eligible students for the internship year.
  • Monitoring trainees’ performance in hospitals and coordinating with relevant entities within and outside the Tabuk region.
  • Issuing internship completion certificates after the required requirements are fulfilled.

2) Academic supervision

  • Monitoring the implementation of the study plan and developing the clinical curricula.
  • Ensuring the availability of educational materials and references in coordination with academic departments.
  • Developing course reports and implementing recommendations to improve academic performance.

3) Developing students’ and faculty members’ skills

  • Organizing orientation workshops for sixth-year students on internship requirements and SCFHS programs.
  • Delivering training courses to enhance faculty members’ skills in medical education.

4) Assessment and accreditation

  • Improving assessment tools and clinical examinations.
  • Preparing and distributing evaluation forms and logbooks to document clinical skills.
  • Collecting student feedback to assess the quality of training and training sites.

5) Partnerships and communication

  • Strengthening partnerships with training institutions inside and outside the Kingdom.
  • Coordinating with hospitals to ensure their commitment to providing an outstanding training environment.

6) Guidance and mentoring

  • Providing the necessary support to students and trainees to overcome academic and professional challenges.
  • Promoting a culture of academic mentoring during the clinical phase.

7) Quality assurance

  • Monitoring compliance with quality standards across all stages of clinical training.
  • Collaborating with quality committees to implement continuous improvement actions.
