Program Educational Objectives and Student Outcomes

The bachelor of science in industrial engineering has established three broad program educational objectives (PEOs) for graduates as they progress through their careers. Within a few years of graduation, our graduates

First Objective

PEO 1: Provide effective solutions that add value to engineering, business and industry processes.

Second Objective

PEO 2: Engage in life-long learning and career development.

Third Objective

PEO 3: Demonstrate professional, ethical and leadership qualities in engineering practice.

The program goals of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering include to enable its graduate to:

To recruit and educate students in the field of Industrial Engineering and prepare them to be successful professional for their future career.
To evolve as one of the leading undergraduate programs in the Kingdom in industrial engineering.
To establish the skills and desire to continually learn and grow through a lifelong professional career.
To launch a successful career by effectively practicing industrial engineering and be successful in advanced graduate study in different disciplines in Industrial Engineering.
Enable students to contribute to the development of the social and economic environments of their communities
To help students to successfully apply the contemporary Industrial Engineering tools and techniques to solve engineering and management problems effectively.
To develop links with local industry and provide the technical support and expertise also to find industrial placements for students in Industrial Engineering related areas.

Program Learning outcomes (PLOs) / Student outcomes (SOs)

An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
