The origin of the chair

The idea of establishing a chair for the development of the intellectual, psychological, cultural and civilizational aspects of the youth emerged from those visions that illuminated the meeting of His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Tabuk with His Excellency the President of the University, leaders and academics, which His Highness preferred to present, through a number of directives And profound ideas of a scientific nature, through his presentation of a number of intellectual, cultural and social concepts related to the thinking of the new generation and its relationship to education, on the one hand, and with practical reality on the other hand, and those visions were a new way of thinking about how the university can contribute as a great scientific edifice in guiding young people, whether Inside or outside the region, developing their thinking mechanisms and helping them overcome the obstacles that face them, by providing them with knowledge, providing them with a suitable environment, to invest their relationship with knowledge and not be limited to the purely scientific aspects, and the necessity of linking it to reality and its challenges.

These visions have contributed to pushing the university to think about establishing a chair that achieves a number of goals in this field, and works according to various mechanisms and methods, aiming to manage minds and make them with a correct orientation in the field of national development, spreading the culture of self-employment, volunteer work and social work, and be a scientific nucleus. And a process to take care of youth issues and link them directly to society and guide them intellectually, psychologically, culturally and socially, so that they are able to contribute to the development of their country and society.

The concern for youth in society stems from the fact that their hopes and participation in this society, and their energies, values and principles, are what shape their future, and Saudi youth, like all young people in any society, aspire to lead a fruitful and busy life, to build a family, and to participate in a greater degree in The national and global arena, and since young people are the next generation of heads of households and of the workforce, their decisions will affect the welfare of the entire nation. Hence the importance of this age group, in general, and in Saudi society in particular, becomes evident.

Hence the idea of establishing the Prince Fahd Bin Sultan Chair to study and develop youth issues. This chair will mean the development of youth in Saudi society in general and in the Tabuk region in particular, whether by conducting studies and research related to youth issues, or by holding various scientific and training activities such as seminars and conferences. Workshops ... etc., discuss various topics and issues related to this important social group in Saudi society.
