Objectives:

Supporting students throughout their academic journey.
Promoting national values and identity among students.
Developing students’ personal abilities in line with their individual potential.
Identifying students’ talents and capabilities and working to nurture and refine them.
Motivating and encouraging gifted students.
Addressing and overcoming challenges and obstacles that students may encounter.

Responsibilities of the Academic Advising Unit:

Developing the College’s academic advising plan.
Supervising the implementation of the academic advising plan.
Raising students’ awareness of the Unit’s purpose, significance, and services through orientation sessions and group meetings.
Promoting the importance of academic advising and the value of maintaining regular communication with academic advisors.
Introducing students to the College’s mission, objectives, academic programs, and departments.
Explaining key university regulations and policies relevant to undergraduate students.
Orienting new students to academic requirements—such as attendance expectations and permitted absence limits—through introductory sessions held at the beginning of each semester.
Submitting periodic mid-semester reports on the Unit’s activities and accomplishments.
Reviewing cases referred by the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs and preparing detailed reports on them.
Addressing students’ academic issues referred by advisors and coordinating with the Academic Affairs Unit to resolve them.
Considering academic-related complaints submitted by students, proposing appropriate solutions, or referring them to the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs when necessary.
Conducting orientation meetings for new faculty members to familiarize them with the College’s academic system and advising procedures.
Preparing and updating the Academic Advising Manual.
Reporting any academic challenges students face in specific courses to the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs.
Assisting in resolving students’ problems and guiding them toward the most effective available solutions.
Organizing group meetings prior to final examinations to provide students with study strategies, exam preparation guidance, and reminders of relevant regulations and procedures.
Holding regular committee meetings every four weeks—or as needed based on reports—to discuss periodic and exceptional reports submitted by academic advisors.
Submitting regular monthly and semester reports on the Unit’s activities to the College Dean after review by the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs.
