The University College of Umluj was established following the restructuring of the College of Health Sciences for Girls in Tabuk. It was administratively, financially, and academically integrated into the University of Tabuk in accordance with the Higher Education Council Resolution No. 23/48/1429, issued during its 44th session on November 12, 2006.
The formal establishment of the college was further ratified by Royal Decree No. 5088/MB on July 8, 2011. The College (Female Campus) initially launched at the Sixth Elementary school building with three academic departments: Mathematics, Islamic Studies, and Languages and Translation. Following this initial phase, the college underwent a period of rapid expansion: the Biology department was introduced in 2012 followed by Nursing in 2013, and both Arabic Language and Computer Science in 2014. In the second semester of the 2014/2015 academic year, the new Umluj University College campus for female students was inaugurated.
The Male Campus was established in the first semester of the 2013/2014 academic year, initially offering three departments: Islamic Studies, Languages and Translation, and Computer Science. The college continued to expand its curriculum with the introduction of the Mathematics department in 2014/2015, followed by Arabic Language in 2015/2016. Most recently, the Nursing department was launched in 2018.
For the male campus, classes were initially conducted in leased facilities until the end of the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. At the beginning of the second semester of the same year, the Male Campus relocated to Building No. 5 within the Technical College complex.
At the professional level, the college, through the Umluj Applied College branch, has offered a range of intermediate diplomas since the 2022/2023 academic year (1444 AH). These programs, available to both male and female students, include diplomas in Risk Management and Insurance, Network Systems Management, Human Resources, and Public Health.
