About Institute for Language Teaching

With reference to the English Language Center, which is considered the nucleus of the Institute, the Center was established in the academic year 1434/1435 AH under the name English Language Center at the University of Tabuk. Its purpose was to support the University's colleges in enhancing the preparation and qualification of students and university staff in English language learning. The Center also provides local and international courses and programs in languages, translation, and preparation for international examinations such as TOEFL and IELTS, as well as teacher-training programs such as CELTA.

On 11/9/1440 AH, the Temporary Committee assigned to exercise the powers of the Higher Education Council approved the establishment of the Institute of Language Education at the University of Tabuk (currently known as the English Language Institute). The Institute comprises the English Language Skills Department and the Foreign Language Education Department.

Vision, Mission & Values

In pursuit of a vision and mission that fulfill the objectives of the English Language Institute and the University of Tabuk, while instilling their values among the Institute’s staff and stakeholders, the Operational Plan Committee of the English Language Institute at the University of Tabuk held numerous meetings and workshops with Institute personnel. The Committee also reviewed and studied the University of Tabuk’s Third Strategic Plan. The outcomes of these meetings and workshops led to the formulation of the Institute’s vision, mission, and values as follows:
