Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the most honorable of all creation. And then:

Social responsibility is an individual duty before it is an institutional duty. Every one of us must be aware of our precise and true role in the cycle of this society and nation. The nation that shelters and bestows its blessings upon us views it with the eye of what an individual owes to it before it views it with the eye of what is due. Societies and civilizations will not be built unless each one of us is aware of this responsibility that rests upon us.

The vision of our beloved Kingdom (Vision 2030) embodies many of the meanings that have been lost to our minds. It aims to restore balance in our way of looking at things, and to make us feel our desired role in our social responsibility, as individuals and as a society. Therefore, it has launched numerous programs that contribute to this flowing river, which remains and endures even as generations change. These include, for example, the qualitative shift in the codification of numerous regulations and systems that regulate the affairs of individuals within society, and the successive shifts that our Kingdom has made when it launched a program that cares about and addresses the quality of life of the Saudi citizen.

The role of activating social responsibility within agencies has come to highlight the true role and obligations of government educational and service institutions regarding their responsibilities to society and individuals. This is a good start and a solid foundation for many projects and recommendations that achieve the goals of social responsibility, leading us to tangible and real results on the ground.

This effort would not have been possible without the support and backing of a number of individuals, most notably His Excellency the President of Tabuk University, Professor Abdullah bin Mufrih Al-Dhiabi, who directed the establishment of the unit to serve as the university's gateway to the community.
