Overview of the Vice Deanship for Graduate Studies and Development

The Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Unit at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Tabuk, is dedicated to developing an integrated academic and research environment that supports the faculty’s mission in community service and contributes to achieving the objectives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

The Unit undertakes the following key responsibilities:

• Developing graduate studies programs through the establishment and continuous updating of academic plans and programs and overseeing the quality of academic performance and accreditation requirements.
• Promoting scientific research and innovation by supporting interdisciplinary research initiatives, developing databases for research activities, and encouraging faculty members and students to participate in high-quality research projects that address health and community-related issues.
• Establishing and strengthening local and international partnerships to advance graduate programs and support research activities and scientific conferences.
• Supporting scholarship students by monitoring their academic and administrative affairs and providing the necessary assistance to enable them to achieve academic excellence.
• Organizing scientific events, including seminars, workshops, and training courses, aimed at enhancing the competencies of faculty members and students in the fields of graduate studies and scientific research.

The Unit serves as a fundamental contributor to the achievement of the Faculty’s and the University’s objectives in higher education and scientific research, and as an effective partner in the advancement of the nursing sector at the local and global levels.

Overview of Social Responsibility Unit

The Community Responsibility Unit contributes to strengthening the faculty’s role in community service through health, awareness, and volunteer initiatives. It encourages students and faculty members to participate in programs that support the development of the local community.

Overview of the Strategic Planning Unit

The Strategic Planning Unit at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Tabuk, is dedicated to institutionalizing a culture of evidence-based planning and ensuring alignment between the faculty’s plans, the University’s strategic framework, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

The Unit undertakes the following key responsibilities:

• Preparing and periodically updating the faculty’s strategic plan, including the formulation of the vision, mission, and strategic objectives, in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Monitoring implementation and measuring performance through the preparation of periodic and quarterly reports to track progress and ensure alignment of operational performance indicators with university targets.
• Developing and maintaining databases and statistical records related to students, faculty members, scholarship recipients, and administrative staff, and analysing such data to support decision-making and the development of academic programs.
• Preparing annual reports that document the faculty’s achievements across educational, research, and administrative domains.
• Contributing to institutional studies, including labour market needs assessments, graduation and attrition rates, and enrolment capacity analyses.
• Organizing and providing information to internal units and external entities and overseeing the regular updating of the faculty’s webpage on the University website.

The Unit represents a fundamental pillar in supporting informed decision-making, ensuring the quality of institutional performance, and enhancing the faculty’s readiness to achieve its strategic and developmental objectives.

Overview of the Quality and Academic Accreditation Unit

The Quality and Academic Accreditation Unit at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Tabuk, is dedicated to promoting a culture of quality and academic excellence and to ensuring compliance with institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements. The Unit plays a pivotal role in enhancing academic and administrative performance through overseeing the implementation of quality systems and standards and ensuring their sustainability across the faculty.

The key responsibilities of the Unit include:

• Developing and implementing the Quality Assurance Plan and promoting a culture of quality among Faculty stakeholders.
• Monitoring and executing institutional and programmatic academic accreditation projects in coordination with relevant internal and external entities.
• Reviewing academic program reports and action plans to ensure alignment with quality standards and accreditation requirements.
• Preparing required manuals and reports, incorporating developmental recommendations to support continuous improvement.
• Organizing workshops and training courses to enhance the academic competencies of faculty members and students.
• Maintaining continuous coordination with the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation at the University to ensure the integration of efforts and the achievement of high levels of institutional excellence.

The Unit serves as an effective instrument in supporting the Faculity’s ongoing efforts to attain the highest standards of quality and academic accreditation, thereby strengthening its position at both the local and international levels.

Alumni Unit

The Alumni Unit at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Tabuk is dedicated to overseeing alumni affairs and strengthening effective and sustainable communication between graduates and the Faculty. The Unit aims to support alumni career development and enhance their engagement with the labour market. It also works to formalize partnerships with employers and relevant institutions, and to implement initiatives and programs that contribute to the enhancement of graduates’ skills and professional competencies.

The Unit undertakes the following principal responsibilities:

1. Establishing and regularly updating databases of graduates and relevant employers.
2. Measuring and analysing graduate and employer satisfaction levels and preparing related analytical reports.
3. Strengthening communication with alumni and inviting them to participate in Faculty activities and events.
4. Organizing specialized training programs that prepare graduates for labour market requirements.
5. Coordinating the organization of Career Day and related activities in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
6. Identifying employment opportunities and disseminating them to graduates.
7. Organizing an annual alumni gathering and activating communication networks among graduates.
8. Highlighting distinguished alumni success stories and presenting them as role models for future generations.
9. Preparing the Unit’s annual report and submitting updates to the Vice Deanship for Clinical Training.

Through these concerted efforts, the Alumni Unit seeks to serve as an effective liaison between the faculty, its graduates, and the labour market, thereby enhancing employment opportunities and ensuring the sustainability of academic and professional contribution.

Overview of Student Activities Unit

The Student Activities Unit is responsible for organizing cultural, social, volunteer, and sports activities that contribute to the holistic development of students, enhance their leadership skills, and strengthen their sense of belonging to the university community.

Overview of Clinical Training and Internship Unit

The Clinical Training and Internship Unit at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Tabuk serves as the central entity responsible for the comprehensive planning, organization, and administration of all practical and clinical training activities for the faculty’s male and female students, encompassing the clinical training phases and the internship year. The Unit plays a critical role in safeguarding the quality and effectiveness of clinical education through structured coordination with accredited hospitals and healthcare institutions, and by providing an advanced training environment that fosters the development of students’ scientific, clinical, and professional competencies, in full alignment with labour market needs and national and international academic accreditation standards.

The Unit undertakes the following principal responsibilities:

1. Establishing and maintaining comprehensive databases of students scheduled for clinical training and the internship year.
2. Coordinating with accredited hospitals and training institutions to facilitate student placement, oversee training arrangements, and ensure the effective supervision of clinical practice.
3. Developing, updating, and implementing policies, manuals, guidelines, forms, and procedures governing clinical training and internship programs.
4. Monitoring and evaluating student performance, facilitating administrative and academic processes, and addressing challenges encountered during clinical training.
5. Receiving, reviewing, and documenting student performance evaluations and reports submitted by training institutions.
6. Preparing and issuing internship completion certificates, as well as official reports and correspondence required for academic and professional purposes.
7. Preparing students for licensure examinations administered by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties through structured preparatory programs and simulated examinations.
8. Contributing to the implementation of institutional development initiatives and the execution of the faculty’s strategic plans.

Through these integrated functions, the Clinical Training and Internship Unit constitutes a foundational component in achieving the faculty’s mission of preparing highly qualified healthcare professionals capable of practicing the nursing profession in accordance with the highest standards of competence, quality, and professional excellence.

Overview of Laboratories Unit

The Laboratories Unit oversees the preparation, operation, and maintenance of the faculty’s laboratories, and monitors their requirements for equipment and materials. The Unit ensures the implementation of quality and safety standards, organizes training workshops for students and faculty members on the effective use of laboratory facilities, and supports the educational, training, and research processes.

Overview of Examinations Unit

The Examinations Unit organizes midterm and final examinations and oversees the procedures for question preparation, grading, and the recording of results in accordance with standards of quality and transparency. The Unit also works on developing assessment and evaluation tools to ensure the credibility, fairness, and integrity of academic assessment.

Overview of  Programs and Study Plans Unit

The unit is responsible for the design and development of academic study plans in accordance with approved academic standards and the National Qualifications Framework. The Unit oversees the implementation of these plans to ensure alignment of learning outcomes with labor market requirements and the standards of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. In addition, the Unit reviews program and course specifications and monitors the quality of their implementation on a regular basis.

Overview of Academic Advising Unit

The Academic Advising Unit focuses on monitoring students’ academic progress through academic advising records. It addresses registration issues and schedule conflicts, monitors academic performance, and organizes academic advising sessions and study skills workshops. In addition, the Unit provides individualized student support in collaboration with the academic departments.

Overview of Educational Affairs Unit

The Educational Affairs Unit is responsible for preparing and monitoring academic schedules in coordination with the academic departments. It addresses academic matters and resolves related issues concerning students and faculty members. In addition, the Unit supervises course add and drop procedures, academic warning and deprivation lists, graduation records, and course equivalency processes. It also ensures the accuracy and reliability of academic statistics and reports.

The Public Relations and Media Unit at the Faculty of Nursing at University of Tabuk is responsible for enhancing effective communication between the college, its staff, and the community. This is achieved through managing media content and overseeing the publication of news and events across the university’s officially approved platforms. The unit also contributes to highlighting the college’s achievements, documenting its activities, and supporting the implementation of events and conferences. In addition, it works on developing the faculty’s website. The unit operates in alignment with the strategic plan of the faculty and the university, contributing to strengthening institutional identity and achieving its media and communication objectives.
