Department of Computer Engineering — Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Tabuk

 

The rapid expansion of computing applications, the growth of the electronics industry, and the recent technological and information revolutions have made computer engineering one of the most dynamic disciplines today. In response, the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology established the Department of Computer Engineering to prepare engineers with strong, distinctive capabilities who can contribute to national development and meet the Kingdom’s ambitions.

 

Program focus and outcomes:

- Graduate engineers who can design, install, configure, operate, and program high‑quality digital systems and circuits.

- Install, program, and maintain electronic systems while working across diverse computing standards and platforms.

- Adapt to technological change and address societal and industrial needs through strong analytical, design, and problem‑solving skills.

 

Curriculum and educational approach:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering awarded upon completion of the approved study plan.

- Balanced integration of theory, application, and hands‑on practice across core areas of computer engineering.

- Alignment with international frameworks and standards developed by leading professional bodies such as IEEE and ACM.

- An integrated educational and research environment that attracts talented students and faculty, supports applied research, and links research priorities to community and national needs.
