The Scientific Unit is responsible for the following tasks:
Developing the overall research environment within the College.
Establishing and enhancing mechanisms to implement initiatives aligned with the strategic plans of the College of Tourism and Hospitality at University of Tabuk, as well as supporting improvement recommendations related to research, graduate studies, conferences, and scholarships.
Encouraging interdisciplinary research through collaborative studies between different departments within the College or with other colleges in the University.
Promoting student participation in scientific research through workshops, lectures, and awareness activities, and encouraging faculty members to involve students in their research projects.
Supporting research that addresses community needs and building research partnerships with local community institutions.
Proposing internal and external collaborations, sponsorships, and partnerships to develop and support scientific research and graduate programs in the College.
Developing databases to document research interests, academic output, and all research activities of faculty members.
Supporting and facilitating faculty research affairs to increase both the quantity and quality of research output in the College.
Contributing to the organization of workshops, seminars, courses, meetings, and scientific conferences at both the College and University levels.
Recognizing and honoring distinguished faculty members in the field of scientific research.
Developing and updating plans for establishing graduate programs and overseeing their implementation.
Supervising and organizing developmental workshops and seminars related to graduate studies for faculty members.
Managing all procedures related to scientific research, graduate studies, scholarships, and conferences within the College.
Handling procedures related to faculty affairs, including promotions, participation in conferences, workshops, training programs, and local/international seminars.
Encouraging faculty members to attend and participate in local and international conferences.
Managing procedures related to faculty transfers, secondments, and assignments.
Establishing an electronic database for College scholarship recipients.
Monitoring scholarship students and maintaining dedicated records for each scholar.
Managing all scholarship-related procedures and affairs within the College.
Preparing meeting minutes and periodic (monthly) reports on the Unit’s activities and achievements, and submitting them to the relevant Vice Dean.
Reviewing matters referred by the Dean of the College and completing related transactions, as well as performing any additional assigned tasks through the relevant Vice Deanship.
Maintaining all committee records, including minutes, and providing copies to the committee chair.
Submitting a quarterly report to the Dean of the College covering all Unit activities.
