The Community Service Unit is responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Identifying key societal issues and challenges, and defining the role that academic departments within the College can contribute to addressing them.
  2. Coordinating among academic departments in the College to provide diverse services needed by the community.
  3. Organizing meetings, seminars, lectures, and training courses that contribute to community service.
  4. Developing both short-term and long-term plans for community service activities.
  5. Organizing and implementing community service programs with the participation of students, faculty members, and partner organizations in the community.
  6. Encouraging faculty members to engage in continuous professional and personal development.
  7. Coordinating with relevant units within the University to achieve mutual benefits and shared objectives.
  8. Establishing a centralized database covering all Unit activities related to community service and faculty training, and preparing an annual report on the Unit’s activities to be submitted to the relevant Vice Dean.
  9. Preparing the annual operational plan for the Community Service and Training Unit in coordination with the Strategic Planning Unit and submitting it for approval before implementation.
  10. Maintaining all committee records, including minutes, and providing copies to the committee chair.
  11. Reviewing matters referred to the Unit by the Dean of the College and completing related transactions, as well as performing any additional tasks assigned through the relevant Vice Deanship.
  12. Submitting a quarterly report to the Dean of the College covering all Unit activities.
