Duties and Responsibilities of the Vice Deanship for Educational Affairs

The Vice Deanship for Educational Affairs is responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Supervising the work of administrative units and committees associated with the Vice Deanship, proposing initiatives to enhance their performance, ensuring the provision of necessary resources, and overseeing their operations through appropriate monitoring, guidance, and control within delegated authority.
  2. Supervising the work of the College Council Secretariat, organizing its meetings, and maintaining and indexing its decisions.
  3. Following up on the implementation of decisions issued by the University Council, the University President, the College Council, and other relevant administrative regulations and circulars.
  4. Monitoring academic performance within the College and ensuring that all administrative units fulfill their assigned responsibilities effectively, while proposing improvements and ensuring operational efficiency.
  5. Ensuring that faculty members fulfill their academic and professional duties and responsibilities appropriately.
  6. Updating College information on the official University website.
  7. Preparing academic performance reports and submitting them to the Dean of the College.
  8. Monitoring the proper conduct of the educational process and ensuring that academic programs are implemented according to approved regulations, while verifying compliance by faculty members and students with applicable rules and instructions.
  9. Supervising the distribution of teaching loads among faculty members and those in equivalent positions.
  10. Overseeing all procedures related to the admission of new and transfer students, course registration, deferment, withdrawal, add/drop processes, re-enrollment, and ensuring timely completion of all academic procedures in accordance with the approved academic calendar and regulations.
  11. Monitoring midterm and final examinations to ensure they are conducted according to approved schedules and regulations, and ensuring all requirements for successful examination processes are met.
  12. Supervising the development and updating of academic plans within the College, including curriculum development, program updates, and approval of academic specializations, textbooks, and references in coordination with relevant academic departments.
  13. Ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and sustainable learning environment within the College.
  14. Supervising the implementation of student extracurricular and co-curricular activities in accordance with approved regulations.
  15. Monitoring the implementation of student guidance and counseling programs (psychological, social, and career guidance) in accordance with approved policies.
  16. Overseeing the publication of student-related guides, brochures, and informational materials.
  17. Performing any other responsibilities within the scope of the Vice Deanship or as assigned or delegated by the College Council or the Dean of the College.
