The Academic Support Unit is responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Studying and identifying the College’s needs for scientific equipment, materials, and consumables.
  2. Supervising the preparation of departmental requests for laboratory operation according to approved forms and following up their submission.
  3. Coordinating with the College and relevant authorities to procure the required items for operating the College laboratories.
  4. Proposing the formation of technical committees to review bids submitted by the Procurement Department and reviewing bid evaluation forms before submission to relevant authorities.
  5. Inspecting and receiving all equipment and materials delivered to the College, ensuring compliance with required specifications before supplying them to laboratories, and verifying completion of inspection and receipt forms.
  6. Supervising the College warehouses used for storing materials required for laboratory operations.
  7. Overseeing the implementation of quality and accreditation standards in College laboratories.
  8. Monitoring the application of safety regulations and procedures in College laboratories.
  9. Supervising the College computer laboratories.
  10. Overseeing periodic maintenance processes and upgrading laboratory equipment.
  11. Delivering the College’s equipment and furniture requirements from the Procurement and Warehousing Departments to the College administration.
  12. Providing the necessary physical requirements and resources to ensure an effective and efficient teaching and learning environment.
  13. Following up on the transfer, receipt, and return of assets among College staff.
  14. Maintaining all committee records, including minutes, and providing copies to the committee chair.
  15. Submitting a quarterly report to the Dean of the College covering all Unit activities.
