Head Message

The idea of establishing a chair dedicated to developing the intellectual, psychological, cultural, and civilizational aspects of young men and women stemmed from the visions that illuminated the meeting of His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Tabuk Region, with His Excellency the University Rector, leaders, academics, and students more than eleven years ago. His Highness graciously presented these ideas through a number of profound, scientific-based directives and insights, presenting a number of intellectual, cultural, and social concepts specific to the thinking of the new generation and its relationship to education, on the one hand, and practical reality, on the other. These visions represented a new way of thinking about how the university, as a major and influential scientific research institution, could contribute to guiding young people, both inside and outside the region, developing their thinking mechanisms, and helping them overcome the obstacles they face by providing them with knowledge and creating an appropriate environment for them to invest in their relationship with knowledge, not limiting it to purely scientific aspects, and emphasizing the need to connect it to reality and its challenges. These visions have contributed to the university's consideration of establishing a chair that would achieve several goals in this field, operating based on various research, studies, mechanisms, and methods. These aims to guide minds and guide them toward the right direction in the field of national development, and to spread the culture of self-employment, volunteer work, and social work. This chair would serve as a scientific and practical nucleus for addressing youth issues, connecting them directly to society, and guiding them intellectually, psychologically, culturally, and socially, in various fields, enabling them to contribute to the development of their country, their society, and their world. In this chair, we are pleased and honored to communicate with all our young people from this great and generous nation, as well as with all those interested in youth affairs, issues, and aspirations, in a way that achieves the desired goals and visions.

Dr. Yasser bin Ahmed Marzouq
Supervisor of the Prince Fahd bin Sultan Chair for the Study of Youth Issues and Development
