Head Message

The Department of Pharmacy Practice serves as the fundamental pillar in preparing a new generation of pharmacists capable of meeting the demands of advanced healthcare. The mission and goals of the department have been meticulously crafted to align and integrate fully with the mission of the College and the strategic vision of the University. We firmly believe that the effective role of a pharmacist begins with transforming theoretical knowledge into responsible and productive practical application.

The department relies on an advanced educational system aimed at preparing students to work with high efficiency across all pharmaceutical fields. This system includes providing them with precise clinical knowledge, pharmacy management, statistics, and pharmacoeconomics, in addition to intensive clinical training during the internship year.

We work within the department to prepare pharmacists qualified for various sectors, including community pharmacies, hospitals, government health institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and specialized clinics. Our ultimate goal is to graduate a pharmacist who contributes effectively to providing safe and effective pharmaceutical advice, reducing medical errors, providing comprehensive care that meets the patient’s needs, and improving the quality of health services in the Kingdom, in line with 2030 vision, all while adhering to the highest standards of professional ethics and scientific quality.

Furthermore, the department places utmost importance on encouraging faculty members and students to actively participate in innovative scientific research that enriches the field of pharmacy practice and supports evidence-based health decisions. The department is also committed to contributing to various community activities that raise health awareness and enrich professional knowledge, reflecting the university's role as an active partner in community service and the development of the pharmaceutical profession.

Mission

Contributing to the preparation of outstanding graduates by delivering up-to-date courses and providing high-quality training for PharmD students, in addition to conducting applied scientific research that serves the community.

Vision

The Department of Pharmacy Practice aspires to achieve excellence in theoretical education, scientific research in the field of patient care, and community service in accordance with international standards.

Objectives

We put our vision into action through a set of general objectives that guide our journey toward excellence. Through these objectives, we strive to achieve the highest standards of academic and research performance and community service, while fostering an inspiring educational environment and a vibrant university community. The Department of Pharmacy Practice at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Tabuk, seeks to equip its graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to:

First Objective

Supply the community with highly competent PharmD graduates capable of practicing the pharmacy profession in its various aspects in governmental and private hospitals, community pharmacies, and pharmaceutical companies.

Second Objective

Prepare and qualify graduates with a thorough awareness of the fundamental principles of initiating, continuing, modifying, or discontinuing therapy, along with a comprehensive understanding of pharmacokinetics sufficient to optimize therapeutic plans for individual disease conditions.

Third Objective

Enhance graduates’ ability to interact efficiently and professionally with the healthcare team and patients across diverse work environments.

Fourth Objective

Develop graduates’ cognitive abilities in searching for, analyzing, and interpreting drug-related information, utilizing pharmaceutical and medical sciences and applying them to various clinical cases

Fifth Objective

Participate in community service in collaboration with relevant authorities in areas such as drug regulation to reduce medication misuse, detection and management of poisoning, and the exchange of scientific information.

Sixth objective

Promote the optimal and rational use of medicines and raise awareness of the harms and complications resulting from irrational use of drugs and pharmaceuticals through various publications.

Seventh Objective

Contribute to scientific publishing by participating in research projects in basic and applied sciences within the community and healthcare sectors.
