The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology is one of the main departments in the College of Pharmacy. The department consistently strives to achieve excellence in order to fulfill the college's vision and mission.
The department operates as a team and provides distinguished educational services by teaching 10 courses to undergraduate students, preparing them for integration into the job market. The courses taught in the department focus on everything related to medicines, including drug names, their pharmacological groups, and their mode of action for therapeutic effect. They also cover information about the therapeutic dose, drug distribution in the body, side effects, and how to reduce them. The department also teaches toxicology courses, including how to prevent and treat poisoning from various types of drugs. The department also engages in numerous community activities to raise community awareness about diseases and their treatment, contributing to the building of a health-conscious and educated society. The department consists of a number of faculty members with diverse expertise, drawn from international academic schools, and a significant share of international research and publications. They participate in numerous research projects in collaboration with prestigious scientific institutions. The department aims to promote the culture of optimal drug use in the Tabuk region.

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology aims to provide students with distinguished scientific experiences in the fields of pharmacology and toxicology through updated curricula and distinguished faculty and administrative staff. The department is interested in applied scientific research to serve the community in the context of achieving the Faculty mission with an emphasis on commitment on religious, ethical and scientific values during all the deals carried out by the department with all entities and individuals.
The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Faculty of Pharmacy seeks excellence in teaching pharmacology and toxicology courses and conducting advanced scientific research that assists finding therapeutic options for common diseases as well as providing a sophisticated community service to Tabuk population.
We put our vision into action through a set of general objectives that guide our journey toward excellence. Through these objectives, we strive to achieve the highest standards of academic and research performance and community service, while fostering an inspiring educational environment and a vibrant university community.
Providing students with the basic and advanced information about the therapeutic effects and side effects of medications on different body organs.
Providing students with the basic and advanced information about the effects of toxicants on the various body parts and how to diagnose and treat some cases of poisoning.
Providing students with some of the skills necessary for clinical practice, such as adjusting doses according to the patient's condition and the following up of the treatment response.
Cooperating with other departments in the Faculty, University, and society to achieve the Faculty mission.
