As for the dimension: the information age has become a real reality, an era in which the ability to generate new knowledge is the main engine of economic and social growth, and perhaps the most important characteristic of this new era is the technological revolution in information technology and computer science, and the computer represents the pinnacle of what modern technology has produced. The computer has various aspects of life, starting from the home and ending with the outer space, and it has come to affect people's lives, directly and indirectly. From this standpoint and in line with the vision of the Kingdom 2030, the Computer Science Department was established 1432 AH, with the aim of consolidating scientific knowledge and practical experiences in the field of computer science, which would enable the preparation of highly qualified cadres specialized in the field of computer science in order to contribute effectively to establishing a knowledge society and achieving Development according to quality standards by providing an optimal academic environment for developing knowledge and skills in research and innovation in the field of computer science.

Word of The Director

Information technology (IT), and more generally the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are at the heart of today’s compagnies, representing a major actor in the economic development of many countries. Now, we can’t go without these technologies. They play a vital role in our daily life owing to facilities it. Their wide application has made the computer education a must. As computers are being used widely these days, gaining computer education is the need of time. This is the information age and computers and computer education are must to rise and to achieve the ladder of success.
Computer-Science department of  UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF HAQL offers high quality computer science programs that rely on excellent teaching that are continuously fed by research contributions in ICT fields such as: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, information systems, data science...
The department strategy focuses on building a student-centered environment that emphasizes both the personal and professional development of students for a better integration into the job market.

Objectives

*​Providing graduates with a deep understanding and knowledge of computer science, in order to be involved in this productive practice of computer science by identifying and solving large problems across a wide range of application areas.


*Graduating students who are able to apply their knowledge and skills in computer science for the general benefit of society.

* Graduating students who are able to enhance the economic well-being of both the Tabuk region and the Kingdom through a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

*Preparing students for successful and fruitful careers as specialists in both industrial and governmental institutions.

* Preparing graduates with the legal and ethical understanding and knowledge, social and global policy issues in the field of computer systems and the development of teamwork and communications to professionally address the needs of society and institutions.

*Prepare students to pursue graduate studies and lifelong learning in a rapidly developing field.​
