The study is of 5 years duration including the preparatory year in addition to summer training in companies and agencies under supervision of the faculty members.

“The Electrical Engineering Program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org/"

Vision

To offer programs that emphasize research and development, instill moral values and ethical behavior, and promote professionalism and societal economic prosperity in a supportive environment.

Mission

To become a leading department that produces ethical and professional leaders who are equipped with the skills and knowledge to drive societal and economic growth through innovative research and development.

Objectives

The bachelor of science in electrical engineering has established four broad program educational objectives (PEOs) for graduates as they progress through their careers.

Graduates of the B.Sc. program in Electrical Engineering shall:

PEO 1: Pursue career development.

PEO 2: Produce effective solutions to real practical problems in the Kingdome of Saudi Arabia and in the surrounding region.

PEO 3: Collaborate and communicate as members of industrial and research teams.

PEO 4: Be ethical and responsible professionals and leaders.

Student Outcomes (SOs):

  1. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
  2. An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
  3. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  4. An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgements, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
  5. An ability to function effectively on a team, whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
  6. An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgement to draw conclusions.
  7. An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
  8. An ability to demonstrate knowledge of concepts of electrical engineering and science.
