The Scientific Unit is responsible for the following tasks:

1. Developing the overall scientific research environment in the college.
2. Establishing and improving mechanisms for implementing and accomplishing all initiatives to achieve the goals of the strategic plan for the College of Tourism and Hospitality and the University of Tabuk. This includes recommendations for improvement related to scientific research, postgraduate studies, conferences, and scholarships.
3. Encouraging interdisciplinary research through collaborative research among different departments within the college or with departments from other colleges in the university.
4. Encouraging students to participate in scientific research through workshops, lectures, and other means that highlight the importance of research, and urging faculty members to involve students in their research.
5. Motivating research that addresses the needs of the community and building research partnerships with local community institutions.
6. Providing proposals for internal and external cooperation, sponsorship, and partnerships to develop and support scientific research and establish postgraduate programs in the college.
7. Creating databases to document interests, research output, and all research activities of the college's faculty members.
8. Contributing to motivating, facilitating, and supporting the research affairs of faculty members to enhance quantitative and qualitative research output in the college.
9. Contributing to organizing workshops, seminars, courses, meetings, and scientific and research conferences in the college and the university.
10. Recognizing outstanding achievements in scientific research among college staff.
11. Developing a plan for establishing postgraduate programs and their attachments in the college and overseeing their implementation.
12. Supervising and organizing workshops and developmental seminars for postgraduate studies for college faculty members.
13. Handling procedures related to scientific research, postgraduate studies, scholarships, and conferences in the college.
14. Handling procedures related to faculty members' scientific promotions and participation or attendance in local and international conferences, workshops, training, and seminars.
15. Encouraging faculty members to attend and participate in local and international conferences.
16. Handling procedures related to transfers, secondments, and assignments for college faculty members.
17. Establishing an electronic database for college scholarship recipients.
18. Monitoring college scholarship recipients and maintaining an individual file for each.
19. Handling procedures related to the affairs of scholarship recipients and scholarships in the college.
20. Preparing regular (monthly) lectures and reports on the unit's meetings and achievements and submitting them to the college's authorized deputy.
21. Reviewing topics referred by the Dean of the college to the unit, handling related transactions, and any other tasks delegated to the unit through the designated representative.
