In a step aimed at strengthening professional integration among future healthcare professionals, the Faculty of Pharmacy, represented by PharmaDose Club and under the supervision of the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized the third edition of the “Tiryaq” Challenge from January 25 to 27, 2026. This edition stood out as an interactive platform that brought together students from various health colleges, moving beyond the boundaries of traditional classrooms.
The competition drew its strength from the diverse expertise of its supervising team, reflecting the collaborative spirit it seeks to promote. The supervision committee included: Dr. Hanan Al-Sharif from the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. Ruqayyah Badiwi from the Laboratory Department (College of Applied Medical Sciences); Dr. Enas Abu Talib from the Rehabilitation Department (College of Applied Medical Sciences); Dr. Iman Saeed from the College of Nursing; and Dr. Samar Al-Johani from the College of Medicine.
“Tiryaq 3” centered on activating the concept of Interprofessional Education (IPE). This approach aims to train students to function as a cohesive healthcare team, where they learn “from, with, and about” one another. Among the key objectives of the challenge were enhancing understanding of the complementary roles of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, laboratory specialists, and rehabilitation professionals; training students to make collaborative clinical decisions that prioritize patient care; and strengthening effective interprofessional communication to reduce future medical errors.
