Unit Responsibilities:

Develop a plan for academic advising at the college.

Supervise the implementation of the academic advising plan.

Raise students’ awareness about the unit, its importance, and how to benefit from its services through meetings, publications, and the unit’s website.

Introduce students to the college’s goals, mission, academic departments, career opportunities for graduates, and the services provided to students.

Assign new students to academic advisors at the beginning of each academic year.

Review students’ academic issues referred by advisors and contribute to solving psychological, financial, social, and career-related problems by directing them to the university’s Counseling and Guidance Center and the Deanship of Student Affairs.

Examine students’ academic complaints and propose appropriate solutions or escalate them to the college administration when necessary.

Supervise orientation programs for new students to familiarize them with the academic system and examinations.

Review cases referred by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, provide opinions, and submit recommendations.

Prepare an annual report covering all unit activities and submit it to the Vice Dean.
