University history

The establishment of the University of Tabuk in 1427 AH, 2006 CE, represents an explicit expression of the insightful vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, may God have mercy on him, in spreading higher education in all regions of the Kingdom. Currently, there are more than 1659 faculty members in the university, of whom 40% are female, and the number of students exceeds 36,000 students. The university seeks to be a beacon in the fields of education and development. The main campus of the university is located in the city of Tabuk, in the Tabuk region, which is located in the northwest of the Kingdom. And based on the university’s commitment to serving the people of the region, the university has established many branches in all governorates of the region. The university includes the following colleges: (College of Medicine - College of Engineering - College of Applied Medical Sciences - College of Science - College of Computers and Information Technology - College of Education and Arts - College of Home Economics - College of Community - College of Sharia and Regulations - College of Business Administration - College Pharmacy - College of Design and Arts - University College in Duba Governorate - University College in Al Wajh Governorate - University College in Majd Governorate - University College in Haql Governorate - University Branch in Tayma Governorate). The university is heading to open the Faculty of Tourism in Al Wajh Governorate. In addition, the university contains the following deanships: (Deanship of Admission and Registration - Deanship of Faculty Members and Personnel Affairs - Deanship of Student Affairs - Deanship of Scientific Research - Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education - Deanship of Postgraduate Studies - Deanship of Library Affairs - Deanship of Development and Quality - Deanship of Academic Services - Deanship of Information Technology - Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education - Deanship of the Institute for Research and Consulting - The university also includes the following centers: Sensor Networks and Cellular Systems Research Center - Research and Renewable Energy Center - Industrial and Robotic Innovation Center - English Language Center). The area of ​​the university campus is 12 million square meters, and the university has come a long way in the completion of the university city, and work is still underway to complete the housing project for faculty members and permanent buildings for the faculties of medicine, applied medical sciences, science and business administration. Obtaining academic accreditation from national and international institutions is an important indicator of the quality of the educational process. In this aspect, the university seeks to implement the standards of the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment in the Kingdom before the end of the year 1435 AH (2014 AD). The following programs at the university have obtained academic accreditation from the international bodies indicated next to each of them - Technical and functional education program for the pre-bachelor's stage in the Community College of the Academic Accreditation Board approved by the Ministry of Education in the United States of America in the month of Dhul Qa'dah in 1431 AH corresponding to the month October 2010.​    

1. The Mechanical Engineering Program at the College of Engineering from ABET in the year 38/37 AH.
    2. Computer Science Program from the College of Computers and Information Technology from ABET, in the year 38/37 AH.
    3. Mathematics program at the Faculty of Science from ASEN in the year 36/35 AH.
    4. The English Language Program in the College of Education from CEA in the year 38/37 AH.
The university implements from the university's attachments and studies that the region is of interest internally and through global partnerships in the United States of America, Italy, Germany and its closest, Turkey and others. The university also adopts two research chairs supported by His Royal Highness Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Tabuk, and they are:
The first: The Prince Fahd Bin Sultan Chair for Science Research in uncovering diseases and their causes and contributing to their treatment.
The second: The Prince Fahd Bin Sultan Chair for the Study of Youth Issues and Their Development.
