I am proudly an academic member at the University of Tabuk, Faculty of Science, Biochemistry Department My previous experience for 28 years was at Cairo University, Faculty of Science, biochemistry specialty I have several years of experience in academic and administrative work Furthermore, teaching and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students I have been supervising many MSc and PhD theses (nearly 30) in the fields of biochemistry and biotechnology

المؤهلات العلمية

1968 - Bachelor degree of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Cairo University , Egypt Master degree of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Cairo University- 1991 Master degree of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Cairo University- 1995

الاهتمامات البحثية

Cell death plays a central role in the development of many diseases The research in my laboratory focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of programmed cell death (apoptosis) and developing new selective therapeutic agents for inhibition of apoptotic proteins for the treatment of cancer using cytotoxic assays, q-PCR, and atomic force microscopes Also, I studied the mode of binding of the inorganic complex with Calf thymus DNA to find new anticancer agents Their interaction studies are attempted by UV-Vis spectroscopy, electrochemical techniques, and gel electrophoresis

Antibiotic Resistance When bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms acquire a gene or genes that allow them to resist the drugs intended to kill them, this is known as antimicrobial resistance That suggests that the germs endure and grow Treatment for infections with resistance can be difficult and occasionally impossible Antibiotics have significantly contributed to the socioeconomic development of recent decades and have also saved many lives However, the problem of bacterial resistance to antibiotics worsens as antibiotics are misused, which could lead to treatment failure, higher rates of morbidity and mortality, and higher healthcare costs The healthcare, veterinary, and agricultural sectors, as well as individuals at any stage of life, could be impacted by antimicrobial resistance This makes it one of the most urgent public health issues in the entire world Without immediate action, the world is entering a post-antibiotic era in which typical infections and minor wounds can again be fatal So, The World Health organization chose the topic "Combat Antimicrobial Resistance: No Action Today, No Cure Tomorrow" for World Health Day The primary goal of the suggested study is to identify the knowledge, attitudes, and practices surrounding the use of antibiotics and the associated risks by conducting a field study with a targeted sample of Saudi citizens
