My research interests are the bioadhesion of endothelial cells onto functionalized biomaterials In my PhD thesis, I have investigated the parameters that determine cell interactions - materials depend on the properties of the biomaterial surface and the intrinsic properties of cells The objective is to characterize the physicochemical properties, morphological and electrical surface before and after functionalization and to correlate these properties with the adhesion energy of cells on these materials I have particularly used the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) technique which is an effective tool for monitoring endothelial cell behaviour on a fibronectin/ polystyrene/thiol/gold electrode I have also studied the electrical properties of endothelial cell monolayer immobilized on fibronectin/polystyrene/thiol/ gold electrode using the impedance spectroscopy When endothelial cells attach and spread on the surface of a biofunctionnalized gold electrode, they behave essentially like insulating particles that hinder unrestricted current flow from the electrode into the bulk electrolyte and thereby increase the overall electrode impedance Recently, I am mainly interested on the study of Endothelial Cells Adhesion onto functionnalized substrates Using Surface Plasmon Resonance The focus of this work will be on the endothelial cell monolayer immobilized adhesion onto functionnalised substrates such as fibronectin/polystyrene/thiol/ gold electrodes, by surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM) The obtained results have been confirmed by impedance measurements and wettability studies
