with - Associate professor Hoda Salem has been teaching and training undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students to develop their skills, and attitudes and also broaden the horizons of their knowledge She has been proceeding with clinical research and contributing to medical knowledge through scientific paper publications in indexed journals and their presentation at various local, state, and international conferences Participating in teaching syllabus and curriculum design like lectures, tutorials, and group discussions of under and postgraduate students is also one of her duties Furthermore, she has participated in other academic activities like seminars, symposia, workshops, and conferences She served as a faculty counselor for students academically and socially and served on College and University committees as directed by the dean, she has been supervising the scientific researchers and thesis to fulfill the master and philosophy of doctor degree of postgraduate students as well as a member of the awarded committee

- Investigator of the project about Establishing of Genetic Signature Cancer Center (GSCC) to serve the scientific community performing cutting-edge cancer research at Tanta University This project is funded by Ministry of Higher Education by code no (CEPI-038-TAN) Establishing of Genetic Signature Cancer Center (GSCC) at Tanta University This project is funded by Ministry of Higher Education (about $ 570,000) from 16/2/2014 The objective of this project is to establish a new center for Next Generation Sequencing for Genomic and Epigenetic Also Sequencing of Micro RNA in cancer patients We are running research on Target sequencing of Colorectal cancer patients, miRNA profiling of Hepatocellular carcinoma and Target sequencing of Oral anticoagulant resistance
Investigator of the project about “Utility of autologus bone marrow stem cells for treatment of chronic leg ulcer Utility of autologous bone marrow stem cells for treatment of chronic leg ulcer: Chronic leg ulcer is a major problem in many cases, it may associate different diseases either neoplastic, vascular, parasitic and traumatic Several studies in recent years suggest that bone marrow derived stem cells such as hematopoietic stem cells cell progenitors, mesenchymal stem cells, multi-potent stem cells, progenitor cells such as endothelial progenitor cells and fibrocytes may be involved in these processes, contributing to skin cells or releasing regulatory cytokines With our own experts of Medical Biotechnology, this project uses stem cells to treatleg ulcer This technology is based on conditioning stem cells or their progenitors to be more effective in the treatment strategy The projects will also focus on developing animal models that can understand mechanisms behind the used of these cells This project is Funded by Intramural grants Funded by Tanta University, Egypt (100,000 LE each for 2 years)
(Neurotherapeutic effects of combined treatment (against Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is one of the most widely used food additives However, it has been linked to protein malnutrition (PM) and various forms of toxicity such as metabolic disorders and neurotoxic effects The current study is the first to explore the link between MSG, PM, and induced brain injury similar to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) Moreover, the possible mechanistic protective pathways of Morin hydrate (MH) - a natural flavonoid with reported multiple therapeutic properties were investigated Results showed that the combination of MSG+PM-fed rats exhibited the worst situation as evident by statistically deteriorated effects on behavioral, neuro-chemical and histopathological analyses when compared to MSG or PM alone However, MH improved animals’ behavior, increased brain monoamines, BDNF, antioxidants contents and protein expression of Nrf2/HO-1 This was accompanied by significant decrease in brain MDA, inflammatory markers (NF-kB, TNF-α, IL1β), and suppressed TLR4/NLRP3/caspase1 axis Collectively, MSG and/or PM are associated with neuronal dysfunction Additionally, MH could be a promising neuroprotective agent against brain insults through via targeting antioxidant Nrf2/HO-1 and hindering TLR4/NLRP3 inflammasome signaling pathways This project is Funded by University of Tabuk(0084-1442-S)
