Dr Ra’fat Alqurashi is an assistant professor in molecular microbiology and biotechnology in the Department of Biology at the University of Tabuk - He completed his undergraduate education in microbiology at King Abdulaziz University - He then worked as a technician and chemist in the water quality measurement laboratories at Quba Water Factory and National Water Company (NWC) - He established a water quality measurement laboratory at the Afif branch of NWC - He received his MSc in Biotechnology for a Sustainable Future from the University of East Anglia - He worked as a health inspector at Madinah Regional Municipality before joining the University of Tabuk as a lecturer - He undertook a PhD in molecular microbiology at University of Nottingham with Tamsin Majerus – His PhD research identified ladybirds’ microbiomes using 16SrDNA sequences and genomics to investigate the ways in which microorganisms interact with, shape and impact their environments - He teaches various theoretical and practical courses for diploma and undergraduate students including Microbiology, Bacteriology, Fundamentals of Biology, Fundamentals of Ecology, Climate Change and Sustainability, Principles of Environmental Conservation, Environmental Impact Assessment and Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing - He is hardworking, loyal, trustful and passionate about his work and seeks to improve and develop the quality of education, facilities and equipment in the workplace to contribute to bringing the university to the ranks of universities with a global reputation for research and teaching excellence
