1. To list and describe the terms, practices, and theoretical fundamentals relevant to the fields of Literature, literary criticism, Linguistics, and Translation.

2. To describe the strategies for interacting with academic content and list the conventions of academic writing in English.

3. To recognize a theoretical knowledge in relation to the three main genres (prose, poetry, and drama) and use this knowledge correctly when reading and analyzing texts.

4. To compare and contrast the different theories of the domains of linguistics, literature and translation, and use them in analyzing, interpreting, criticizing, and translating texts.

5. To assess debates and discussions in the domains of literature, linguistics, and translation.

6. To demonstrate effective teamwork and verbal communication practices.

7. To consult online resources and use the internet and office applications professionally in language study and in researching topics in the fields of literature, linguistics and translation.

Word of The Director


The Department of Languages and Translation welcomes its male and female students enrolled in the Bachelor's program in English language, which prepares its students to excel in several academic fields and prepares them for a number of important jobs in the labor market such as teaching English, translation, media, journalism, tourism and proofreading.

The program plan is characterized by a selection of courses that provide students with the skills required in the labor market and give them a high opportunity to compete with graduates of the corresponding programs. In addition to the academic aspect, the department provides a stimulating inclusive environment for students in the social, administrative and development aspects by (1) creating a space for students to express their ideas and discover and refine their talents in management, media production, translation, communication, public speaking, etc. (2) and by organizing various workshops, courses and extra-curricular activities

Through continuous development, the department seeks to give its students a world-class educational experience in quality that opens ​up new and diverse future horizons for students​
