Pregnancy Campaign and Drug Safety
Under the patronage of His Excellency, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tabuk University; Dr. Alaa bin Abdullah Bagalagel and his vice dean for Female Students; Dr. Sharifa Al-Zahrani, Faculty of Pharmacy held a social awareness campaign on Thursday, 10 Muharram 1440H about pregnancy and the medication safety in one of the malls in Tabuk (Al Makan Mall) as part of the activities in the Saudi Pharmaceutical Day in conjunction with the National Day of Saudi Arabia (88).
The campaign aimed to raise awareness of women's physiological and natural changes during the three stages of pregnancy: from the first month to the ninth month. Moreover, it described the impact of these changes on the effectiveness of the drug, awareness of the tests and analysis needed to be conducted with vitamins and supplements to be addressed at each stage, such as: iron and calcium And folic acid.
Visitors were also informed about the classification of different drugs according to the risk factor during pregnancy and the drugs that are supposed to be used or avoided for some chronic diseases during pregnancy such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, headaches, nausea and frequent vomiting, as well as the danger of using some cosmetics that contain some ingredients that have proven their seriousness on the pregnant lady and the fetus such as: vitamin A and its derivatives and lead, and the need to avoid the treatment of herbs and medicinal plants of unknown source because they may contain some effective chemicals that may occur side effects of the pregnant women such as abortion or premature birth. During the campaign, a questionnaire was conducted to measure participants' awareness of and understanding of the information.
Dr. Amani Al-Shaman, Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, also participated in the campaign to answer medical and surgical consultations related to pregnancy.

After the approval of King of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the Council of Higher Education, God preserves them at its (seventy-first) session, held on 14/11/1433 H, under the guidance of the Quran No. 7385 and dated 26/2/1434 AH approved the establishing of faculty of Pharmacy at University of Tabuk

In accordance with the care given to the development of the faculty students and the belief in the importance of qualifying the students to cope with the labor market needs and under the guidance of the Faculty Dean doctor Alaa Ben Abdullah Bagalagel, Pharmaceutics Department held a field trip for the fourth-year male and female students to Tabuk Pharmaceutical manufacturing company, which is the second biggest company for pharmaceutical industries in KSA.
