The College of Science was established as a branch of King Abdulaziz University in Tabuk in 1426 AH, according to the decision of the Higher Education Council and with the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Higher Education Council, and it was at that time including the mathematics and physics departments. Since the establishment of Tabuk University in 1427 AH, the College of Science has become one of its colleges. The college now includes six departments: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, biochemistry and statistics. These departments award a bachelor's degree to contribute to the graduation of qualified Saudi talent. The College of Science is distinguished by the existence of an elite group of faculty members in its various departments. In the academic year 1431/1432 AH, they were of both sexes (186) faculty members, including a professor, associate professor, assistant professor, lecturer and instructor. The number of students enrolled in the undergraduate program in the various departments of the college in the same year was about (1057 male and 677 female students) and this number is constantly increasing. The first batch of the College of Science graduated (students) in the second semester of the academic year 1430/1431 AH, and their number reached (130) students. The Department of Mathematics began accepting male and female students in the master's program, starting in the academic year 1431/1432 AH. The study plans and programs for the college departments were developed and reviewed and approved by the Fifth College Council for the academic year 1430/1431 AH. The College of Science has a special building for males in the university city on the outskirts of Tabuk, and a special building for females in the Al-Mahrajan neighborhood in Tabuk. The college buildings contain offices of faculty members, classrooms, and student laboratories in various departments equipped with the latest scientific devices necessary to prepare students who possess scientific and practical skills that help them in practicing their role in society. The college seeks to equip a group of advanced research laboratories to be a pillar of scientific research at the university.
