المٌعقم الذكي عبارة عن صندوق ذكي آلي قادر على تعقيم الحاجيات اليومية قبل لمسها والتعامل معها لضمان خُلُّوها من الفايروسات، وذلك باستخدام الضباب المُتطاير الذي يعتمد على تقنية الموجات فوق الصوتية (الألتراساوند)، حيثُ يتم وضع الحاجيات والأشياء المُراد تعقيمها داخل صندوق المُعقم الذكي ومن ثمَّ يعمل الصندوق على تعقيمها بشكل آلي، باستخدام السائل المُخصص لذلك، حيثُ يتم تضبيب الحاجيات المُراد تعقيمُها لفترة زمنية مناسبة. ويمتاز المُعقم الذكي بقدرته على تعقيم كامل للمنتجات وذلك من خلال التعقيم بالضباب بدلاً من استخدام الطرق التقليدية مثل التعقيم بالرشاشات والتي تفتقر إلى تعقيم الحاجيات بشكل كامل.​

The smart sterilizer is a smart box capable of sterilizing daily needs before touching and handling them in order to use that using ultrasound technology, where the needs for things to be sterilized are placed inside the smart sterilizer box and then it works at the right time. The smart sterilizer is characterized by its ability to completely sterilize, through the use of traditional methods such as sterilization with sprays.​

The Industrial Innovation and Robot Center at the University of Tabuk has produced a prototype for a robot capable of sterilizing and disinfecting masjid, especially mosque floors, effectively and independently without the need for the intervention of the human factor to accomplish a task sterilization.
